 绘画学习的阶段性任务可以循序渐进，可以缠绕前进，也 可以跳跃进行。但根本上(学习者)要警惕抛弃个体观察 和个体经验的所谓“想象”。这种初级想象最容易雷同于众 人的一般化经验。那么如何避免雷同?(方法即是)回到 自己的眼睛和经验。(学习者)可借用的仅仅是方法和规 律性的手段。(画者)要尊重和唤醒自己。没有自己就没有绘画的好感受、好题材和好气息。

Fundamentally, we should be wary of the so-called “imagination” which may cause abandoning individual observation and experience. This “imagination” is most likely to be similar to the general experience of others. So how to avoid this similarity? The best way is to return to your own eyes and experience. What can be learned is merely regular methods and means. Only when you respect and awaken yourself, can you gain good feelings, refine your subject and awaken incredible spirit.
